Nashville still dealing with the Fern Ice Storm!

I believe the last week in January 2026 will go down in our history books as the worst winter ice storm to ever hit Nashville and surrounding counties. Our store had NO power from January 24, 2026 until late Tuesday night on January 27, 2026. We finally were able to reopen on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 with a limited staff. Several of our employees had no power or unable to travel due to major ice in their neighborhoods. But, we are so blessed with So many employees that did all they could do to make it to the store to help! Those who made it in on Wednesday just jumped in asking what can I do to help! Our installation teams, Service Technicians, Sales Staff, Warehouse Team all wanted to help with whatever was needed. Our accounting team Lisa and Julie jumped in answering over 300 phone calls every day starting on Friday, January 23, 2026 with everyone calling for backup heat and trying to help with information about lighting a pilot light for gas logs.

If you called or sent us an email. Please be patient we are helping customers that come to the store, then when the sales staff has time, they are trying to return phone calls and respond to emails. Backup Heating options….

If you currently have a wood burning fireplace and you have Natural or Propane gas in your home or business. This is an easy fix to add backup heat, so you will be prepared in the future for any power outages. Our installation teams run the gas lines into your fireplace, install the gas logs, and show you how to operate your gas log system. If you home was built with a pre fabricated fireplace with no chimney, as log as gas is in your home, we can install vent free gas logs that will provide heat in the room the logs are located. These kept thousands of homeowners warm during our recent Ice Storm Fern in January 2026.

If anything good came from this ice storm, it’s teaching all of us to be more proactive, having patience and remember kindness during this very difficult time. We had So many wonderful customers that understood that we can only help so many people per day. When you are receiving over 300 calls per day, there is no company that can respond the same day, it’s going to take time to caught up.
