What a crazy cold January we just had. It has been a long time since we have seen 8 – 9 inches of snow in Nashville and surrounding counties. Several businesses and all schools had to close due to icy backroads for almost a week. And now the Farmers Almanac is predicting another snow storm in February. We sure hope it is not as bad as last month. February in 2024 is full of so many events beginning with Groundhog Day on Friday, February 2nd, what will Punxsutawney Phil and Buckeye Chuck see for our winter forecast?  Followed by our 58th Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11th, when everyone fires up their grills and smokers for all the tailgate parties. Our most romantic date is February 14th for Valentines Day, nothing says I Love You more than cuddling by a cozy fireplace with your special someone 💕. Plus, we honor our Countries Presidents with Presidents Day on February 19th. And on February 29th we will celebrate Leap Year, since this comes around about every four years. Let’s hope we have a Happy Leap Day! If Punxsutawney Phil or Buckeye Chuck see their shadows, they will retreat, and there will be six more weeks of wintry weather, not a problem we have you covered with a variety of heating products to keep you warm and cozy all winter long. But, if they do not see their shadows we still have you covered with all our grills, smokers and outdoor furniture for an early springtime! Make sure to take a few pictures, measure your current fireplace opening, width, height and depth. If back wall tapers measure the width as well. Make a note where your gas line is located. Any of our sales staff will be happy to assist you with the correct product for your fireplace.❤️       As the nation commemorates Presidents’ Day on February 19,2024, citizens across the United States join together to honor the legacies of the country’s past leaders. We are open on Monday, February 19, 2024 with our regular hours 9:00 – 5:00 p.m. This is a federal holiday, which several companies will be closed. The perfect day to get out and shop for Gas Logs or Grills.   When you purchased your vent free gas products from our store, you are given an owners manual. Several customers keep these instructions and several seem to miss place them. But, they provide some very important information on how to maintain your products. Two very important things that need your attention is 1. If you have vent free gas logs, these are required to be cleaned and serviced yearly for proper performance. 2. If your unit has a remote control to operate the gas products, the batteries need to be changed every year. Some units have a receiver on the burner which needs to have new batteries each year as well. So you will need to change both the remote control and the receiver batteries at the same time, so they will operate properly. Our sales staff tells all our customers this information when you are adding a remote control device to your order, but several people, just like me can’t remember everything. So I post this information every time I write our blog.   About every four years we get an extra day in February called Leap Year ( also known as an intercalary year or bissextile year) is a calendar year that contains an additional day.
